Technical Surveyor

Greys Specialist Recruitment are recruiting a Technical Surveyor for a specialist roofing and cladding contractor, covering commercial and industrial projects.

You’ll manage surveys, technical layouts, drawing coordination and materials procurement, taking projects from initial site measurements through to installation. The role combines practical site work with office-based technical responsibilities.

The role

- Survey roofs and building envelopes, recording measurements, existing conditions and defects.
- Develop roofing and cladding layouts, material quantities and solutions for complex details.
- Brief the drawing team, check construction drawings and coordinate approvals.
- Prepare materials schedules, obtain supplier quotations and organise orders and deliveries.
- Support installation teams with technical queries, liaising with clients, contractors and manufacturers.

What you’ll need

- At least three years’ relevant surveying, design or technical experience within roofing, cladding or building envelopes.
- Proven experience carrying out measured roof surveys, with a sound understanding of metal roofing systems.
- The ability to interpret drawings and coordinate technical details, materials schedules and procurement.
- Strong organisation and communication skills, proficiency in Excel and the ability to manage several projects independently.
- Confidence working at height and a valid UK driving licence.

A relevant construction qualification, AutoCAD experience or PASMA/IPAF certification would be advantageous.
